On Wednesday, seven new Saudi relief trucks crossed the Rafah border crossing, loaded with food aid through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to relief the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
This step is an extension of the air and sea bridges that the center launched since the outbreak of the crisis, as it has so far reached 58 aircraft and 8 ships, carrying a total of 7 thousand and 188 tons of various aid, including food, medical and shelter, as well as the delivery of 20 ambulances to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
In light of the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the sector, Saudi Arabia continues to enhance its relief efforts through a series of initiatives, the most recent of which was the signing of agreements with a number of international organizations to finance relief projects worth 90.35 million dollars, directed to support the population inside Gaza, with a focus on critical humanitarian cases.
The center, in cooperation with Jordan, also carried out air projection operations to deliver specific food aid to the affected people in the besieged areas inside the sector, in an attempt to overcome the complications of the closure of border crossings.
The Gaza Strip faces a suffocating humanitarian crisis, in light of the continuation of military operations and the scarcity of basic resources, which makes this aid an urgent necessity to save the lives of thousands of affected families.
These efforts embody an extension of the humanitarian role that Saudi Arabia plays regionally and internationally, in providing support and support to the people affected by conflicts and disasters.
