Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said on Friday that she stressed, during a telephone conversation with her Israeli counterpart, Gideon Saar, on the need to lift the siege imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid to end the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Anita Anand added on the “X” platform that she confirmed during the phone call with Saar to support her country’s continuous ceasefire in Gaza.

The Israeli Foreign Minister had said earlier today that he had informed his Canadian counterpart that “the mono -steps by France and other countries will push Israel to take steps on its part,” referring to the declaration of French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of his country’s intention to recognize the state of Palestine.
He added, through the “X” platform, that the French move “weakens the chances of reaching a deal to exchange prisoners, and the possibility of agreeing to a ceasefire, and stability will not be strengthened in the region.”
