British Emma Radocano and Canadian Laila Fernandez reached the Washington Targens semi-finals, with the first victory over Greek Maria Skari 6-4, 7-5, and the second over her citizen Taylor Townsand 6-4 7-6 (7-4), Friday, in the quarter-finals.
Radukano has been on the outskirts of her first final match since crowning the United States Championship, the last Grand Slam, in 2021 when she defeated Fernandez, which might be rival in the final match.
It is the first semi -final to Radokano, who was absent from most of 2023 due to hand and ankle surgery, and part of last year due to a left foot injury to the English Nutingham Championship.
The British achieved her victory in a hot atmosphere of 35 degrees Celsius, and she said: “It was one of the most difficult matches in my life in terms of weather conditions,” adding: “I am very happy because I was able to settle the match for my favor.”
And she continued: «I think the humidity here makes me feel as if I had just opened a fir. This is how I feel. ”
Radocano meets in the semi -finals with the Danish Clara Tawason, ranked fourth or Russian Anna Kalinskaya, while Fernandez plays with Kazakhi Elena Ribakina the third or Polish Magdalina Freikh.
