The Palestinian delegate to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, revealed to Asharq Al -Awsat that the conference hosted by the United Nations General Assembly in New York, today and tomorrow, on the two -state solution and the end of the Israeli occupation, will establish the recognition of about 10 other countries, in addition to France, to embody the solution on the basis of the 1947 partition decision.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Foreign Minister, stressed that his country’s presidency in partnership with France for this international conference comes “based on the Kingdom’s steadfast position towards the Palestinian issue and a continuation of its efforts in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the efforts to reach a fair and comprehensive peace to ensure the establishment of the Palestinian state on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
In addition, the Palestinian Prime Minister, Muhammad Mustafa, praised the positions of Saudi Arabia, which he said “contributed to the maturity of international positions to recognize the Palestinian state and provide all possible support to it.”
With regard to the endeavors of the ceasefire in Gaza, well -informed Palestinian sources revealed that the brokers are working to hold a new negotiating round after receiving the Israeli response to what Hamas provided to the brokers, perhaps in less than 48 hours, to reach an agreement on the contentious points after resolving many items in the previous negotiation round.
