The momentum of the “Palestinian state” is escalating after Macron’s announcement Arabausa

A state of escalating momentum on the “Palestinian state” after French President Emmanuel Macron announced his country’s determination to recognize the Palestinian state, and to hold “a high -level international conference for the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of a two -state solution” hosted by the United Nations in New York this week.

The tragic and tragic human circumstances that the Gazmine lived, Western countries to recognize the Palestinian cause, moved in the hope of lifting the siege on the Strip, according to experts, who indicated that “the move of France may push other countries to recognize the Palestinian state.”

There are about 147 countries that officially recognize the State of Palestine, as a sovereign state, out of 193 member states at the United Nations, equivalent to 75 percent, according to ABC.

Before the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since the seventh of October 2023, the idea of recognition of Western countries, especially in the European Union, in the State of Palestine, was excluded, by virtue of stopping the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, but international dealings with the issue changed due to the humanitarian catastrophe resulting from the Israeli aggression, prompting European countries, the most recent of which was France to recognize a “independent Palestinian state.”

Finally, the French President announced his country’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine, in fulfillment of its historical commitment for a fair and lasting peace in the Middle East, and said that he “will be officially announced before the United Nations General Assembly in September, for that step.”

The French recognition was widely welcomed, in exchange for an American and Israeli condemnation.

Most countries of the Middle East, Africa and Asia recognize the Palestinian state, most notably Russia, China and India, while countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Canada have not recognized them.

Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, about 9 countries have officially recognized the State of Palestine, including European countries such as Armenia, Slovenia, Ireland, Norway and Spain.

The Palestinians did not succeed through many attempts, the UN Security Council, in obtaining a decision to recognize Palestine as a full -member state at the United Nations, especially with the United States of America using the veto “Veto”, while the Palestinian Authority has the status of a non -member observer since 2012.

The French declaration of the recognition of the Palestinian state came before the holding of a high -level ministerial conference for the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of the two -state solution, which will be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on Monday and Tuesday, headed by a joint presidency between France and Saudi Arabia.

And the “Egyptian Foreign Ministry” announced the participation of the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel -Ati, in the “New York Conference”, regarding the implementation of a “two -state solution”, according to a statement, on Sunday. The New York Ministerial Conference is a prelude to holding an international conference, in Paris or New York, on the sidelines of the high -level meetings of the 80th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in the second half of September.

The “New York Conference” is a first step in a state of international momentum, to support the Palestinian issue and implement the “two -state solution” project, according to the professor of political science at Cairo University, Dr. Tariq Fahmy, and told “the Middle East” that “the conference will pave the way for an important international move, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, in the presence of leaders and leaders of different countries, during which the French recognition will be announced officially, and perhaps other countries.”

Macron said, in press statements, on Sunday, that “his country is working to involve other countries in recognizing the State of Palestine.”

Egypt works with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France to move the “two -state solution” project, according to Fahmy, stressing that “international recognition decisions in Palestine must be invested in order to develop comprehensive solutions to that issue,” noting that these moves “may face American and Israeli pressures that impede the recognition of other European countries in the Palestinian state.”

While the professor of political science at Al -Quds University, Dr. Ayman Al -Raqab, believes that “the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, on the impact of the famine in the Strip, moved Western countries like France to recognize the State of Palestine.”

On Wednesday, the Israeli Knesset voted in favor of a draft law calling on the government to impose Israeli sovereignty on the West Bank, with a majority of 71 votes in exchange for 13 members, amid Arab rejection of this decision.

There is a decision by the United Nations to establish a Palestinian state, which impedes Israel, according to the nickname, and said that “the French recognition of Palestine will benefit the issue, given the French weight in European and international, and it is the first country of the Great Group of Seven to take such a decision,” explaining that this “recognition may push other countries to recognize such Britain and Canada.”

In 2024, a group of United Nations experts called on all United Nations member states to recognize the State of Palestine, in order to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
