The sources of “Al -Sharq Al -Awsat” learned that Al -Ahly Club is close to completing the contract with the left wing of the Gulf team, Saleh Abu Al -Shamat, with the aim of strengthening the team during the current summer transfer period in preparation for the new season.
The same sources indicated that the deal is dependent on the approval of Al -Qadisiyah Club, which is a party to the negotiations; He is entitled to obtain 40 percent of the value of the deal, according to the item agreed upon in the player’s transfer contract from Qadisiyah to the Gulf, last summer.
The Al -Ahly administration obtained the Gulf approval from the time to negotiate with the player and discuss its personal conditions, which facilitated the negotiations.
During the negotiations, the idea of concluding a reciprocal deal included the transfer of a player from Al -Ahly to the Gulf and a sum of money, but the Gulf administration preferred to obtain a financial compensation only as a major option, which was agreed upon in the final stages of the deal.
It is expected that the deal is officially announced in the coming days if Al -Qadisiyah agreed.
Abu Al -Shamat participated with the Gulf during the last season in 31 games in the Saudi League and King’s Cup competitions, during which he scored one goal, and presented 6 decisive passes, which drew the attention of several clubs, including Al -Ahly, who seeks to strengthen its offensive options in the left porch.
Abu Al -Shamat is one of the names that have emerged in the professional league during the past two seasons, as he was distinguished by his quick start, his accuracy in cross balls, and his ability to make opportunities on both sides, in addition to his tactical flexibility that allows him to play as a wing on the left and Yemeni side.
The 22 -year -old is a graduate of Al -Ahly Academy, before moving to Al -Qadisiyah, and then cooperating, to settle in the Gulf.
The move comes within the direction of Al -Ahly’s administration to fill the technical needs recommended by German coach Matthias Yaisle, who requested the support of the team with young local elements that have the experience of the Premier League, along with foreign elements and foreign professionals.
