The Netherlands, the right -wing Israeli finance minister, prevented the Israeli Smotrich and the Israeli National Security Minister Itamar bin Ghafir, from entering the country, as part of a series of measures to pressure Israel regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, according to the “Times of Israel” newspaper about Dutch media reports.
According to the Hebrew newspaper, Dutch Foreign Minister Kaspar Valdikamb said in a letter to the Dutch legislators, which was reported by the local newspaper “Aljamin Daglabad”, that the move against Smutrich and Ben Ghafir “comes because they incited the settlers repeatedly on violence against the Palestinian population, and called for ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip.”
Commenting on the ban imposed on him, Bin Ghafir wrote on X: “Even if I am prevented from entering the entire Europe, I will continue to work for our country and demand the fall of (Hamas) and support our fighters.”
The ban on the entry of Bin Ghafir and Hemottic comes a day after the Dutch Prime Minister Dick Show announced that his government “is considering taking national action” against Israel, in addition to its support from the European Union for a partial suspension of the financing of Israeli researchers.
