“The Siege of Embassies” … Egyptian warnings of “inflammatory” campaigns managed by the “Brotherhood” Arabausa

Egyptian diplomatic embassies and missions in several countries around the world have witnessed, over the past days, protests and attempts to “a siege and closure”, on the pretext of claiming Cairo to open the “Rafah crossing” on the border with the Gaza Strip, and the delivery of aid to the families who suffer from “starvation”, despite the repeated official Egyptian assurances that the crossing from the Egyptian side was not closed, and that preventing the entry of aid belongs to the Israeli forces. Dominating the Palestinian side of the crossing.

The Egyptian “Siege of Embassies” abroad comes within “inflammatory campaigns”, which is managed by the “Muslim Brotherhood”, which is banned in Egypt; With the aim of “distorting the Egyptian role in supporting the Palestinian issue,” according to Egyptian officials and parliamentarians.

The campaign began, last week, after one of the Egyptian youth closed the headquarters of the Egyptian embassy in the Netherlands on workers from abroad with locks, claiming that “this is similar to what Egypt is doing to close the Rafah crossing and says that Israel is the one who closes it”, followed by protests in front of Egyptian embassies in several countries, Lebanon, Syria, Britain, Denmark, Canada, Tunisia, Libya, and South Africa.

The accusations against Egypt are called for a conversation dedicated to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, who said in a speech to him: “We cannot prevent the entry of aid … neither our ethics nor our values allow this, not even the circumstance or national responsibility allows this.” Al -Sisi pointed out that his speech at this current stage “comes at a time when a lot of speech is raised” regarding Egypt’s position. He said: “I must remind people of our positions, which have always been positive, and calls for the stop of the war, and the two -state solution.”

Al -Sisi denounced in a televised speech accusations against Egypt of preventing aid on Gaza (the Egyptian presidency)

Diaa Rashwan, head of the Egyptian State Information Service, affiliated with the presidency, criticized the campaign against Egypt, saying: “The voices attacking Egypt are not looking for the truth, but rather malicious campaigns aimed at incitement, and promoting allegations that have nothing to do with reality, even though what the Egyptian state is doing on the ground is witnessing the whole world,” according to his expression.

“Some parties trying to undermine the Egyptian position ignore official Israeli statements, including what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on two occasions in 2024, when he considered that Egypt posed a threat; To support the Palestinian resistance, which reveals the falsehood of counter -allegations. ”

Rashwan stressed that “Egypt is not drawn behind pressure or dictates, but rather moves from a sincere national standpoint, according to its principles and supreme interests,” calling for “caution against suspicious campaigns aimed at undermining Egypt’s central role in supporting the Palestinian issue.”

National security and international relations expert, Mohamed Abdel Wahid, promised that “the attacks against the Egyptian embassies are not spontaneous, on which the Brotherhood is based. To take revenge on the Egyptian authorities to take advantage of the Palestinian issue.

He pointed out in statements to Asharq Al -Awsat that “the aim of these protests, apparently, pressure Egypt to accept the displacement scenario that it rejects, as all attempts aim to push the Palestinians to flee from the Rafah crossing to Egypt.”

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, last Thursday, in which it renewed its denial of the closure of the Rafah crossing, denouncing “malicious propaganda”, issued by some forces and organizations, aimed at distorting the Egyptian role in support of the Palestinian issue, as well as “unjustified accusations that they contribute to the siege, which are imposed on the Gaza Strip by preventing the entry of humanitarian aid”, according to the statement.

The Egyptian Senate, Osama Al -Hawari, describes these moves as “miserable attempts and cheap auctions by the terrorist Brotherhood against Egypt, while Egypt is a leading country in supporting the Palestinians and their cause since the 1940s.”

He added in statements to Asharq Al -Awsat: “One of the ridiculous matters is to find a call to demonstrate against the Egyptian embassy in Israel, and instead of the demonstration of Israel, which commit the massacres and starvation against the Palestinian people, we find it directed against Egypt that stands against the displacement, and continues to negotiate the ceasefire, and provides assistance to the people of Gaza despite its difficult economic conditions.”

It was remarkable during the past hours, circulating an invitation attributed to the President of the Union of Imams of Mosques in the Palestinian interior, Sheikh Nidal Abu Sheikha, to organize a demonstration in front of the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv, which also sparked angry and satirical reactions in Egypt, where some considered it a bid on the Egyptian role, while others rarely from the idea of protest within the country that is waring and starving, against the embassy of another country, Egypt.

Mahmoud Badr, a member of the Egyptian Parliament, accused the Brotherhood of being behind that campaign, saying in a post on X, that “the biggest calamity is their demand to block the Egyptian embassies abroad, as if Egypt was the one who occupied Gaza!”, Usually the actions of the “Brotherhood” group and distorting the image of the issue “the largest service provided to Israel.”

An official Egyptian source told Asharq Al -Awsat that “the clear synchronization of the moves against Egyptian diplomatic embassies and missions is the most proof of all that it is a planned campaign that is never aimed at serving the Palestinian issue, but incitement and insult to Egypt, and trying to obscure its great efforts in supporting the people of Gaza, and the Palestinian people in general.”

The source pointed out that «these moves also coincided with Israel’s evolution of its obligations to negotiations, which is also interesting. Instead of these moves against those who try to thwart negotiations, we find it coming out against Egypt, which is keen to make these negotiations a success and stop the suffering of the people of Gaza, as if the issue aims to pay attention to the clear truth, and try to create other unrealistic pretexts.

The source stressed that “the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed the countries in which violations occurred against their diplomatic missions; To carry out the necessary to preserve the right of the Egyptian state, as well as provide the necessary protection for Egyptian embassies and consulates, according to what is stipulated in international law and diplomatic norms.
