The Iranian President, Masoud Boukhskian, instructed his team to take the opinions of experts on a draft law to tighten the Internet control, in an attempt to absorb the anger of his allies, while Kayhan’s health warned of the withdrawal of the plan prepared by the judiciary.
The plan came at a time when Bouchakian called for strengthening internal unity and rejecting differences, calling for the opening of a dialogue with the opposition within the framework of the ruling institution.
“The President issued strict instructions to take the opinions of citizens and specialists on the electronic space bill.”
She added, “The government has started a dialogue with elites, the media and activists in this field, To ensure hearing all the votes and making the best decisions in favor of the country and freedom of expression. ”
Some of the Iranian president’s allies of the reformist movement expressed their anger at the plan that would tighten the Internet control, and explained that it pave the way to isolate the Iranian national Internet from the global network.
Despite the protests, parliament, which is controlled by the conservatives, was approved to pass the law by an overwhelming majority, last Sunday.
It has been gradually imposed on the Internet since June 13, after the widespread Israeli attack on Iran, which Tehran responded with missile strikes and firing.
Hussein Shariatamari, the editor -in -chief of the “Kayhan” newspaper and the representative of the Iranian guide, warned against withdrawing the draft law. He said: “The government’s duty is to implement the decisions of Parliament, and it is not the government’s right and cannot withdraw a draft law prepared by the judiciary and it was submitted to Parliament through the government.”
Shariatamari raised his protest in the context of several questions. He wrote in the editorial of “Kayhan”: “Which part of this project contradicts the religious, human, moral and national teachings and respecting the privacy of people?” He added, “Where does the law state that a fake group under the title of elites has the right to ignore the explicit text of the constitution?”
“This group includes some of you with deviant tendencies.”
Last week, Bouchakian sent a draft law to Parliament, under the title “Control of False and District News.” The draft law was prepared based on a proposal from the judiciary, according to government media.
The project states that tight penalties include imprisonment, financial fines, and deprivation of some rights, against electronic space users.
The law emphasizes the prosecution of the spread of content by well -known personalities, or those with social influence, officials, or employees of government departments. The punishment also lasts in the event of “spreading unrealistic content using fake accounts, or through robots and automatic systems”, in addition to “repeating the violation, or spreading them at critical times such as crises or wars, or in cases of threats to national security.”
The law proposes to assign the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Information to establish a national system to receive communications on public activities in the electronic space, and to issue warnings, provided that the resulting reports are referred to the judiciary.
Iran is increasingly concerned about being penetrated by the Israeli intelligence service (Mossad), in light of its indirect war of decades with Israel, which managed to assassinate a large number of military leaders and nuclear scientists in the 12 -day war.
Last week, the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Service warned the Iranians of espionage activities, and the increase in recruitment attempts through mobile phone applications by hostile state intelligence devices.
