While continues in New York for the second consecutive day, the work of the “Two -State Conference” headed by a Saudi -French joint chairman Continuous settlers.

In the opening speech he delivered on Monday morning (New York time), Jean -Nawil Barrow, the French Foreign Minister, addressed this aspect of the Palestinian tragedy and said what his craftsmanship: “The West Bank is threatened with the acceleration of settlements and because of the fateful march of extremist settlers who move from hill to hill and uproot olive trees and burn crops and expel the Palestinians from their homes by force Israeli ».

The French minister denounced “the increasing retail for the Palestinian territories that undermine the possibility of a” Palestinian state “capable of practicing it, while the Knesset voted last week in favor of the entire West Bank. In the face of the fait accompli, how can we maintain hope? ”

According to the figures available, based on the statements of the Palestinian Authority, at least 965 Palestinians, including many civilians, were killed by Israeli soldiers or settlers.

This new incident comes after the Israeli Knesset voted, last week, with an overwhelming majority (seventy votes) to impose Israeli legislation and laws on the West Bank, which means a process of including convincingly in parallel with calls for the deportation of Gaza residents and their replacement. As a reminder, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, recently said that his government would not prevent the Palestinians who would like to leave the Strip. However, atrocities and systematic destruction of Palestinian cities and towns, the siege, starvation, and the structure of infrastructure from schools, hospitals, roads and institutions of various types as well as mosques and churches are all aimed at making the sector, as international organizations emphasize, “is not viable” and thus pushing the Gazans force to leave.

In this context, the French Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the killing of the return of Muhammad al -Hathalin, who is 31 years old, who is a population of the traveler of Yatta, south of the city of Hebron, and was practicing education in Al -Saraya High School near Umm Al -Khair. The Foreign Ministry statement stated that “France condemns this killing in the strongest terms, as it condemns all deliberate violence committed by extremist settlers against the Palestinian population, which has increased throughout the West Bank, especially in Kafr Malik and the village of Christianity during the past weeks.” The statement added that “these terrorist acts are terrorist crimes,” the statement added. The settlers have killed more than 30 people since the beginning of 2022. The Israeli authorities should assume their responsibilities, and to punish the perpetrators of these crimes immediately, who continue their actions without any accountability, and they must protect Palestinian civilians. Paris reaffirmed its complete condemnation of settlement, which contradicts international law, according to the decision issued by the International Court of Justice on July 19 of last year, she stated that it “took sanctions, at the national level and within the framework of three European packages, against settlers who were proven involved in violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.” The summary of Paris is that it will “continue its support to adopt new measures within the European Union, and it is ready to take additional steps at the national level, including against members of the Israeli government who support these violent acts, if it continues.”

However, the last paragraph of the Foreign Ministry statement raises many questions, the first of which is: What prevented France, to this day, from taking measures against what they called “members of the Israeli government who support these violent acts”? In a clear reference to the two ministers belonging to the extreme right, Itamar bin Ghafir (Minister of Internal Security), and with Smotrich (Minister of Finance). Yesterday, the Netherlands announced the two ministers, two unwanted people, and stated in the Dutch government statement that it “decided to consider these two ministers unwanted and pledged to register them as unwanted foreigners in the Schengen regime.” The statement added that they “have repeatedly incited the violence of the settlers against the Palestinian population, and they constantly call for the expansion of illegal settlements and embrace Etnie’s purification in the Gaza Strip.”

The Netherlands, traditionally known as its proximity to Israel, is the second country within the European Union (after Slovenia) to take action of this kind. It is also worth noting that five other countries (Australia, Norway, Canada, Britain and New Zealand) have taken a few days ago a similar action, and therefore, it is correct to question France’s failure to take such action, knowing that Bin Ghaffir and Samotic’s statements are public, and their calls for restraining and anti -Palestinians for the Palestinians public and frequent. Likewise, the Paris frequency cannot be understood in particular compared to its initiative, in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by calling for the international conference for the two -state solution, which will be followed, on September 21, a summit at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where France will officially confirm its recognition of the Palestinian state that is threatened specifically due to the expansion of settlements and the biting of Palestinian territories. It should be noted that the Israeli Foreign Ministry summoned the Dutch Ambassador in Tel Aviv to protest the last Hague’s decision.

In its statement regarding the return of Muhammad al -Hathalin, the Foreign Ministry said that it had received the news of his “great sadness”, appreciating his professional cooperation with the Israeli writer, Yoav Abraham, who won the “Anna Politikovskaya – Arman Sulain for the courage”, and a memorandum that he was the representative of his village, Umm al -Khair in the Mesafir Valley, Yatta.
