The Saudi “Council of Economic Affairs and Development” held a meeting through visual communication, to review the country’s economic performance and evaluate the progress made in the achievement programs of “the Kingdom’s Vision 2030”.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council reviewed the periodic economic report for the month of July 2025, submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, which included a detailed analysis of the latest developments and expectations related to the global economy, and an evaluation of the most prominent challenges and risks it faces, reviewed the performance of the national economy, and expectations for the second half of this year, in addition to next year.
The report highlighted the remarkable positive progress in the results of economic diversification policies within the “Vision 2030”, which is reflected in the continued growth of the Kingdom’s economy for the fourth quarter in a row, with the support of the flexibility of non -oil activities, and the high purchasing directors index to its highest level in 3 months.
Follow the performance of vision achievement programs
The Council also discussed the quarterly report to perform the “Vision 2030” achievement programs and the national strategies for the first quarter of this year, submitted by the Office of Strategic Administration in the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, which reviewed the performance of executive programs to achieve the vision, the state of achievement in achieving strategic goals, and the levels of implementation during the specified period, as well as assessing national and sectoral strategies, the most prominent achievement, and a look at existing efforts and future aspirations, which is The continuation of the implementation process and continued progress in terms of the three vision axes ensure: a vital society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious homeland.
Government agency performance evaluation
In a related context, the council dealt with the report of the performance of the public agencies for the first quarter of the current year, which was presented by the National Center for the Measurement of Performance of Public Devices (Performance), and the efforts made in the areas of support and empowerment of ministries and government agencies to achieve their targets, and the improved improvement in the performance of public agencies in achieving their targets, and the report also included an analysis of the performance of national and sectoral strategies, aspirations and future steps.
In the context of following up the level of completion of government agencies for the tasks and assignments assigned to them, the Council followed the results of the project management office report at the Council of Economic Affairs and Development. The report dealt with the follow -up of the decisions and recommendations issued by the council during the second quarter of this year, detailing its outputs, and the status of these outputs with the authorities represented in the council, in addition to statistics for the levels of completion.
Wide agenda and important decisions
The Council looked at a number of procedural topics and offers on its agenda. This included regarding the organizational arrangements of the Events Committee, the structure and the organizational guide of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and the strategy of developing the Asir region.
The Council also reviewed the report of the Committee to Study and accelerate procedures for the presentation of capital projects for all parties, the quadruple executive summary of the GDP and national accounts, and two summaries of the monthly reports of the record for consumer prices and wholesale prices.
At the end of the meeting, the Council took the necessary decisions and recommendations on these issues.
