In a letter to the British newspaper “The Guardian”, Israeli public figures, including academics, artists and intellectuals, called for “severe sanctions” by the international community on Israel because of the starvation of Gaza residents.

The newspaper said that among the 31 signatories, the “Oscar” award -winning director, director Joal Abraham, former Israeli Attorney General Michael bin Yair, former head of the Israeli parliament (Knesset) Abraham Burg, former head of the Jewish Agency, and a number of those who hold the “prestigious Israel Award”, which is the highest cultural medal for Tel Aviv.

Also among the other sites are the painter Michal Nayman, the director of the award -winning documentary films, Alexandrovich, the director of the movie “Lebanon”, the Golden Lion of the Golden Lion, Samuel Maouz, the poet Aharon Shapeai, and the designer of dance in Pinto.

She added that these personalities come from the circles of poetry, science and journalism, and the message accuses Israel of “starving the inhabitants of Gaza to death and thinking about the forcibly displacement of millions of Palestinians from the Strip.”

The signatories stressed that “the international community must impose strict sanctions on Israel in order to end this brutal campaign, and impose a permanent ceasefire.”

The newspaper pointed out that the message is of importance to its explicit criticism of Israel, and to break it prohibiting the support of strict international sanctions, in a country in which its politicians promoted laws targeting those who defend such measures.

She stated that the growing international terror on the path of the Israel war in Gaza is increasingly reflected within Israel itself, and among the broader global Jewish community, amid pictures of Palestinian children of naughty, and reports of Israeli forces fired hungry Palestinians in food distribution centers.

The letter was published in conjunction with the announcement of the killing of more than 60,000 Palestinians in the 21 -month Israeli war and Gaza war, according to the Ministry of Health in the Strip.

On Monday, two known Israeli organizations in the field of human rights, namely: “Bastel” and “Doctors for Human Rights” in Israel, issued reports for the first time that Israel is pursuing a “genocide” policy against the Palestinians in Gaza, in violation of one of the taboos.

On Sunday, the reformist movement, the largest Jewish community in the United States, held the Israeli government, “the responsibility” of the spread of famine in Gaza.

She said: «No one should spend his time in a debate about the definitions of outbreaks. The situation is tragic, and dead. We should not accept the arguments that the Hamas movement is the main cause of starvation of many Gazans or their standing on the brink of famine, and that the Jewish state is also not responsible for this humanitarian catastrophe. The basic moral response must begin with distressed hearts in the face of a large -scale human tragedy like this. ”

And she continued: “Preventing food, water, medicine and electricity, especially for children, is an inappropriate thing. Let us not allow our grief to turn into indifference, nor for our love for Israel to bless us from the screams of the weak, let us rise to the level of moral challenge for this moment. ”

The newspaper pointed out that these recent comments come in the wake of statements made by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, earlier this month, in which he told the Guardian newspaper that the “human city” that Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz proposed to build on the ruins of Rafah will be a detention camp, and that forcing the Palestinians to enter it is an ethnic cleansing.

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, officials and right -wing NGOs continued to deny the existence of a famine in Gaza that Israel caused.

This happened in light of compelling evidence that proves the opposite, including the United Nations Microbial Security Monitoring mechanism, and the integrated phase mechanism of food security, and the recognition of US President Donald Trump’s recognition of the existence of a “real famine” in Gaza.
