Giockeris in Arsenal … all you need to know about the deal
In a long -awaited huge deal, Arsenal announced its official contract with Swedish striker Victor Gikiris from the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, for 63.5 million euros (about 54.8 million pounds) as a fixed amount, in addition to 10 million euros incentives and variables.
The 27-year-old signed a five-year contract, to start his new adventure at the Emirates Stadium with the “artillery” shirt, in a move confirming the club’s desire to support the offensive line before the start of the 2025-26 season.
Who is Giockeris? A long journey of margin to glory!
Giockeris’s football career was launched from the Swedish club Bruomabokarna, before drawing attention and moving to Brareton in 2018, which is nineteen. But his experience there only limited posts in cup matches.
He then set out in a series of lanes: first to Saint Pauli, then to Swansea, and finally to Coventry City, where the transition turned to permanent in 2021. There he started his true start, and he scored 17 goals in his first season in the Championship, before adding 21 goals in the following season.
This brilliance led Sporting Lisbon to annex it in the summer of 2023, and there it actually exploded: 97 goals in 102 games, with the crowning of the Portuguese League title and the Golden shoe twice in a row.
What can be expected – and what cannot be?
Jiockeris is a modern striker, tends to run behind defenders and work on the parties, does not depend much on air toys or concentrating inside the penalty area as a classic striker.
It is more dodging and carrying the ball for long distances, and has a great physical ability and a noticeable speed. It is not expected to land a lot for the play industry, but it is not that “hunter” who is waiting for crosses. What is expected from it above all: many goals.
Is it suitable for Arsenal’s style?
Giockeris is suitable for the physical and technical composition of the Arsenal team led by Mikel Artita, but the difference between the Portuguese football and the English Premier League may be a challenge for it, especially in front of the bound defenses.
Despite his strength and ability to penetrate, his first touch under pressure may not be always perfect, and it is not the best in air balls. However, his scoring numbers do not lie: 97 goals in two seasons, and he is able to destroy any defense in the open spaces.
History of injuries? Nothing worrying!
Giockeris suffered a minor muscle injury in the thigh in early 2025, keeping him away from two games. Sweden was also absent from last June due to a slight injury, but without disturbing details. In general, it is not considered to be players with injuries.
Peter Kissavaloudi, one of his first coaches in Sweden, said about him to “The Athletic”: “Victor can register in every way. He is a penalty striker, but he can also carry and start the ball because he is fast and strong. He always wants to go directly towards the goal, he does not fear cohesion, fights until the last breath. ”
The deal with numbers: How was it funded?
The basic deal value was 63.5 million euros, with an additional 10 million incentives. This becomes the sixth most expensive player in Arsenal’s history, immediately after Zobimindy and Obamyang directly.
To facilitate the transition, his agent gave up his commission, which reduced the costs of the club. But Arsenal still has a 4 % transfer tax, bringing the total amount of accounting consumption to 57.3 million pounds, distributed over five years.
By calculating the salary and side costs, the cost of the total deal on the Arsenal treasury will exceed 100 million pounds.
Who benefits from the deal?
Brighton (his former club): He will get 30 % of the value of solidarity payments, at about 800 thousand pounds, Bumabokarna and Swedish Spudodine: They will get about two million pounds, Covenri City: It has 10 % of Sporting profits, or about 3.3 million pounds, while Sporting Lisbon, after deducting all items, they are expected to make a profit. Pure 35.5 million pounds in only two years.
Conclusion: Arsenal is betting on the hungry sniper!
After months of searching for “No. 9”, Arsenal found his way in Gi -Kyiris: A ruthless, fast, strong striker, hungry for goals. He is not the classic box striker, but a fierce killer in spaces, and most importantly he is coming with a proof story, and a rising date from the bottom to the top.
It is not just a transfer deal, but rather a great bet … and the ball is now at home.
