After the approval of the Saudi Cabinet on the new statistical system, Faisal Al -Ibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Statistics, raised his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Prince Muhammad bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stressing that this approval comes as an embodiment of the continuous support and empowerment that the statistical sector in the Kingdom has, indicating that the statistical system represents a qualitative stage in the statistical transformation march In the Kingdom, it will actively contribute to developing statistical work and deepening its impact in supporting ambitious development plans.
The new statistical system is a recent organizational framework for governance and raising the quality of statistics, in line with international principles and statistical standards. The system aims to enhance data transparency and enable government and private agencies to use accurate statistics in decision -making, in order to support the achievement of the “Saudi Vision 2030” and the sustainable development goals.
For his part, the President of Fahd Al -Dossary, the General Authority for Statistics, stated that the approval of the Council of Ministers on the statistical system reflects the great support that the statistical sector enjoys from the leadership.
Al -Dossary added that this achievement is the fruit of an integral work and joint efforts between the authority and the relevant authorities, in addition to an extensive study of local and international statistical experiences.
He stressed that the new system will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of statistical work, enhancing its comprehensiveness, and developing the statistical system in accordance with the best international practices.
