Al -Dossary: Saudi Arabia touches the human need wherever it is

Salman Al -Dossary, the Saudi Minister of Information, Iman his country stressed that “sustainable development does not stop at the geographical borders, but rather extends to touch the human need wherever it is,” indicating that it “is helping, adopting and enabling man locally and internationally, and invests in the impact industry through humanitarian work and development assistance.”

The government press conference, hosted by Riyadh, on Wednesday, with the participation of Minister Salman Al -Dossary and Engineer Abdul Rahman Al -Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, reviewed the most prominent developments and achievements of Saudi Arabia in the sectors of the media, digital economy, environment, food and water security, as well as Saudi humanitarian and development efforts internationally.

The Minister of Information said that Saudi aid amounted to more than 30 billion riyals for 108 countries around the world through more than three thousand projects and development and humanitarian program, stressing that the Kingdom helps and enables the countries of the world through sustainable humanitarian initiatives.

He pointed out that the total of what the Kingdom presented through the “Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen” amounted to more than 4 billion riyals, in more than 265 projects and initiative, while about 230,000 surgeries were performed within the external voluntary medical programs with the participation of more than 80 thousand volunteers and volunteers.

Al -Dossary revealed that a national media strategy was launched, after the completion of the deliberations on it, noting that the Saudi media is in its strongest stages to support leadership and a vision that makes success at every moment.

He stressed that Saudi Arabia is making future algorithms, after the size of the digital economy reached 495 billion riyals (132 billion dollars) in 2024, a contribution of 15 percent of GDP, pointing to Saudi Arabia topped the list of countries globally in the growth of international tourists’ revenues during the first quarter of 2025, and achieving the second position among the G20 countries in the index of telecommunications and technical organizations.

The Minister of Information touched on the high number of technical companies listed in the financial market to 23 companies in 2024, compared to only two companies in 2020, which reflects the acceleration of digital transformation and the growth of local innovation.

For his part, the Minister of Environment said that Saudi Arabia has made tangible progress in the integrated management of water resources, through a number of projects that it has implemented to keep pace with the increase in water demand, which provides its sources for more than 22 thousand population gathering, and its choice as a global model for water sustainability from the United Nations Committee.

Al -Fadhli revealed that Saudi Arabia implemented projects worth 230 billion riyals, of which 110 billion completed, and 45 billion in partnership with the private sector, and raised production rates by 100 percent to keep pace with the increase in water demand.

He pointed out that Saudi Arabia represents a unique case in securing water sources for more than 22 thousand population gathering, during which the water is pumped to heights of approximately three thousand meters, by a pipeline network of 18 thousand kilometers, noting the size of efforts made to achieve this achievement.

On the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative, Minister Al -Fadhli said that Saudi Arabia has succeeded in rehabilitating more than 500 thousand hectares of deteriorating lands, and planting 151 million trees so far, pointing to the aspirations aimed at reaching 2.5 million hectares and 215 million trees by 2030.

He added that the Saudi Green Initiative achieves its goals in record time, stressing the continued work to achieve the aspirations of forty million hectares, equivalent to 10 billion trees.

Al -Fadhli revealed numbers that reflect environmental tourism in Saudi Arabia, by registering the number of national parks from 16 to 500 parks, and increasing the percentage of wild protected areas for more than 4 times, equivalent to 18 percent of the country’s area, and the area of the marine protected areas increased by 260 percent compared to 2016.
