
Villarreal announced, on Tuesday, his contract with Canadian international Tagon Boucanan under a five -year contract, after joining the Spanish first -division team in February on loan from Inter Milan.
Villarreal said in a statement that Bokanan, 26, who plays mainly in the midfield, and can also play in the center of the wing, passed the medical examination, on Tuesday.
Media reports said that Bokanan joined Villarreal for about nine million euros (10.39 million dollars).
Bokanan, who joined Inter in January 2024, participated in the Belgian Club Bruges, in 13 Spanish league games with Villarreal, who finished fifth last season.
Villarreal said: “Bokanan has physical strength and speed when possessing the ball … With the acumen of existence in the positions of registration, and the ability to provide decisive passes,” Villarreal said.
Bokanan participated in 51 international matches with Canada.
Villarreal will start his career in the Spanish League on August 15, when he will host Real Ovido recently.
