The South China Morning Post reported that an American commercial delegation will visit China this week, and it is expected that senior Chinese officials will meet, quoting two sources familiar with the matter.
A report added that the delegation will be led by the CEO of FedEx, Rajesh Supramamiam, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Council, and is expected to include officials from Boeing and the Chairman of the American -Chinese Business Council, Sean Stein.
A source told the South China Morning Post that “they are expected to meet Chinese officials, perhaps to revive commercial discussions.” The newspaper report stated that the two sides are also working on arranging a visit to the American president to China this year.
The visit coincides with the last round of the US -Chinese trade negotiations in Sweden, where the Chinese Deputy Prime Minister, Kha, meets US officials from July 27 to July 30 to hold a new round of economic and commercial talks. China is facing a final deadline on August 12 to reach a permanent agreement with the White House, otherwise it will face the risk of imposing higher US customs duties.
