A scientific study revealed that the child’s start to use a mobile phone at an early age before 13 years is related to mental health problems when he reaches the age of 18.

A research team from the American “Sabine” laboratories specialized in mental health analyzed data for what is known as “Global Mind Bergnet”, a huge database containing mental health files, demographic information, and data on lifestyles more than 1.5 million Internet users.

The researchers found that children who use a mobile phone at the age of 12 or less increasing the risk of disturbing psychological symptoms at the beginning of maturity, i.e. in the age of 18 to 24 years.

According to the study, published by the scientific journal, “Journal of Human Development and Capabilites”, these symptoms are related to suicide ideas, aggressive behavior, separation from reality, and hallucinations.

The researchers turned out that girls who use the mobile phone at an early age may suffer from a feeling of deficiency, poor self -confidence, and a decrease in the degree of emotional flexibility. As for boys, symptoms such as instability, tension, and the low degree of sympathy for others have appeared.

The researchers emphasized that these results are largely related to the use of mobile phones in entering social media, the risks of exposure to bullying online, sleep disturbances, and poor family relationships.

The research team called in statements conveyed by the website: “Health Day”, which specializes in medical research, to provide protection for mental health for future generations through a series of procedures, such as providing compulsory education to combat digital illiteracy, awareness of mental health problems, and impose restrictions on the use of mobile phones and communication sites for the age of 13 years.
