The foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council states held a coordination meeting on the sidelines of the high -level ministerial conference on “the peaceful settlement of the issue of Palestine and the implementation of a two -state solution”, at the headquarters of the permanent delegation of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York.
Jassim Al -Badawi, Secretary -General of the Council, explained that the meeting comes as a confirmation of the support of the Saudi initiative, by establishing the “International Alliance to implement a two -state solution”, and to discuss joint efforts to resolve the Palestine issue, and to achieve international recognition of the Palestinian state, as well as coordination on the topics raised in the conference.
Al -Badawi added that during the meeting, the foreign ministers discussed several topics, foremost of which are developments within the Palestinian territories and the tragic conditions in the Gaza Strip, especially with the unprecedented conditions that led to a severe shortage of humanitarian aid.
He stressed that the intransigence and blockade of the Israeli occupation forces and the use of the policy of starvation against the people of Gaza, contrary to all international and international customs, covenants and laws; This led to the spread of famine and severe shortage of medicines.
The Secretary -General noted that the meeting demanded that Israel continue to open to open all crossings in order to be able to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
He pointed out that during the meeting, all regional and international efforts were made in cooperation with countries, organizations and institutions in the world, to break the siege on the Palestinian people, and to introduce all humanitarian and relief assistance urgently and without restriction.
