The public prosecutor in Syria, Hassan Al -Dahba, announced on Wednesday that four senior officials of the Assad regime were referred to the investigating judge in preparation for taking legal measures in assets.
The Public Prosecutor said in a statement published through the identifiers of the Ministry of Justice and reported by the official agency (SANA), that in the context of the ongoing efforts to try the perpetrators of crimes against the Syrian people, and the application of transitional justice, the public right lawsuit was moved against the former head of political security in Daraa Atef Najib, (who is the cousin of the deposed president and was known as the torture of the children of Daraa) born in Jabal Lattakia Governorate 1960.
The decision included the former Mufti of Syria, Ahmed Badr al -Din Hassoun, born in Aleppo 1949, known as the “Mufti of the System of the System”, the Minister of Interior, Muhammad al -Shaar, was born in the 1950s, and former head of the Air Force Intelligence Department Ibrahim Al -Hawija, born in Jabal 1940.
The statement added that the Public Prosecution has studied the seizures and documents submitted by the Ministry of Interior, and the defendants were referred to the competent investigative judge to initiate the investigation and take legal measures in assets.
The statement called on all the affected people, their families, or those who have certificates or information about these violations, to provide what they have to include them to the investigation file.

The ministry indicated that the Attorney General began to move the public lawsuit against them, and that it will work to ensure fair trials in accordance with the Syrian law, while respecting the rights of the detainees, ensuring the legality of procedures, and achieving the principle of the rule of law.
The Ministry pointed out that these steps confirm the Syrian government’s commitment to accountability, enhancing confidence in the judicial system, and protecting human rights.
