Nations warning of the threat of “ISIS” and “Al Qaeda” in Africa and the escalation of risks in Syria Arabausa

Experts said in a new report that the threat of extremists affiliated with ISIS and “Al Qaeda” and their branches is the most severe in parts of Africa, with the escalation of risks in Syria, which the two organizations are seen as “a strategic base for external operations.”

The report submitted to the UN Security Council, which was circulated on Wednesday, stated that the “victory of Islam and Muslims” associated with “Al Qaeda” in West Africa, and the youth movement linked to al -Qaeda in East Africa, continued to expand the lands under their control.

Experts who monitor the sanctions imposed on the two groups explained that “the organization’s transformation towards parts of Africa continued” in part due to the losses incurred by ISIS in the Middle East as a result of the pressure of fighting terrorism, according to the American Associated Press.

They added that there are “increasing concerns about the return of foreign terrorist fighters to Central Asia and Afghanistan, to undermine regional security.”

Experts pointed out that ISIS still represents the “most prominent threat” of Europe and the Americas, and often through individuals who were attracted through social media and the applications of encoding by the organization’s branch in Khorasan, who is in Afghanistan.

In the United States, experts said that many of the alleged plans to launch terrorist attacks were “greatly driven by the Gaza and Israel struggle”, or by members of the extremism at the hands of “ISIS”.

The report pointed to an American man who pledged allegiance to ISIS and ran over a crowd in New Orleans on January 1, killing 14 people, in the bloodiest attacks that are attributed to “Al Qaeda” or “ISIS” in the United States since 2016, and they indicated that “the authorities thwarted attacks, including a plan

It is inspired by (ISIS) to carry out a mass shooting at a military base in the state of Michigan, and that the Khorasan branch issued warnings of plans targeting Americans.

In the African Sahel region, experts said that the “Nasra al -Islam and Muslims” group expanded its operations, and operates “relative freely” in northern Mali and most of the lands of Burkina Faso. ISIS activity in the Sahara region also witnessed a “recovery”, “especially along the border between Niger and Nigeria, where the organization seeks to consolidate its existence.”
