American Farid Kerley, former world champion in the 100 -meter of the United States Games, withdrew this week in Oregon, which means his absence automatically from the World Championship next September in Tokyo.
Kurly, who won two Olympic medals in the 100m race, announced his decision in a message on social media.
“The 100 -meter race should be a fast race.”
“In 2025, I represented several obstacles. I will need some time to return to the right track. I will not be able to participate in the United States Athletics Championship this year. Thank you to all my supporters.”
Kurly, 30, won a silver medal in the 100m race in the Olympic Games in Tokyo before he extracted the bronze in the Paris tournament last year.
He had previously won the 2022 World Championship in Eugene, the same site that will host the American championship, which also constitutes the rehabilitation station to the World Championship.
Kurly recorded a time of 9.98 seconds in the 100m race in May.
However, the controversy surrounded his season away from the track, as in early May, he withdrew from the “Grand Salam Track” meeting in Miami after being suspended on charges of assault.
In January, the police arrested him in Miami after a sharp argument with officers that led to electricity.
He was subsequently charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and uncontrolled behavior.
In another case, he was accused and tried in the same month for family violence against his mother’s mother. He paid his innocence in both cases.
