Paris seeks to move peace in the Middle East and end the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, through its recognition of the Palestinian state, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York next September.
The announcement of the upcoming French move came in a tweet by President Emmanuel Macron on the X platform; Where he wrote in its first paragraph: “France decided to recognize the State of Palestine in fulfillment of its historical commitment for a fair and lasting peace in the Middle East, and I will officially announce this before the United Nations General Assembly next September.”
Hours after Macron’s publication on the X platform, a message in which Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas informed that France intends to recognize the State of Palestine by next September, US President Donald Trump seemed to be underestimating Macron’s plans, saying that “what Macron says does not matter; He is a very good man, I admire him, but his statements have no weight. ”
This American position will meet to a large extent with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemning Macron’s decision, and saying that such a step is “equivalent to terrorism and warns of the creation of another Iranian agent.”
But France, which will chair with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, “The two -state solution”, on the next Monday and Tuesday, appears to be cautious about what Washington will present, which has previously sent a message to many countries urging them to refrain from participating in the conference, which will be held in an American and Israeli absence.
