Ramadan Sobhi’s arrest at Cairo airport raises interaction Arabausa

The arrest of the Egyptian international football player, Ramadan Sobhi, raised a wide interaction on social media platforms in Egypt, amid many questions between the fans and those interested in sports affairs about the player’s fate.

The security services at Cairo International Airport arrested Ramadan Sobhi, the wing of the first team of football in the Egyptian Pyramids Club, while examining his papers returning from Turkey, after the end of the camp of preparing his team in preparation for the new season, in implementation of a judicial decision to “control and bring him” issued by the Public Prosecution, accusing him of involvement in the facts of impersonating adjective and forgery of official editing.

Ramadan Sobhi was accused last May of another individual to take the exam in one of the institutes of the Abu Nomros area (Giza Governorate) instead of him.

The Pyramids player was returning with his team after the end of the preparation camp for the new season in the Egyptian Premier League football, when he was arrested at the airport based on a memorandum of arrest and brought from the Abu Nomros Prosecution Office, and the player’s security force took the player to the total public prosecution headquarters in South Giza, to start interrogation in front of the competent investigative authorities in accusing him of the case of forgery related to the incident of another person’s performance instead A private tourism and hotels institute.

The security services had arrested last May on a student who performed the exams instead of Ramadan Sobhi, who is bound by the third division of the institute, and confessed to doing so in exchange for obtaining money, as his personality was revealed while reviewing the personality investigation of the students before the exam, as it was found that the young man impersonated the player.

At the time, the public prosecutor decided to imprison the young man and a security individual in the institute pending an investigation into the first performance of the exams at an institute of tourism instead of the player Ramadan Sobhi, and the second facilitated his entry to the institute, and the prosecution also decided to present the first suspect to the forgery and counterfeiting department in the forensic medicine department, and also ordered the seizure of a famous café owner in the Mokattam area in Cairo for his involvement in the incident.

In conjunction, the player categorically denied any link to the aforementioned person or the incident under investigation, and his lawyers stated that they were not notified of any official summons from any investigation or security authority, and no accusation was charged with the player.

The name of the player Ramadan Sobhi was issued in Egypt during the past hours, amid the interaction of the audience.

Many of the social media users reported the news of the player’s arrest, with monitoring details and scenes of his seizure at Cairo Airport.

Some condemned the player’s involvement in the incident of another person’s performance of the exam instead, if it is proven valid.

The player was criticized, including that his “mentality lost him a lot of success” in his football career.

Ramadan Sobhi brightened in the ranks of Al -Ahly after he joined the first team in the 2013-2014 season, before moving to Stoke City in the summer of 2016, and from it to Huddersfield, then returning to Al -Ahly for a period of 6 months in the 2018-2019 season, before joining the Pyramids Club in 2020.

The Egyptian legal advisor, Ismail, continued to Al -Sharq Al -Awsat, that “the player’s arrest came based on the issuance of a previous decision to arrest him and bring him, and thus upon his arrival at Cairo airport he was seized,” noting that “the player is represented in front of the investigation authorities in the crime of impersonating and forgery in official editing.”

Ismail suggested that “the player’s exit on a financial bail, and if it is proven involved in this felony, according to the Egyptian Penal Code, the penalty could be imprisonment for a period of 6 months or a year with the suspension of implementation, which will be a use of compassion with the player by the court, as the maximum penalty for this charge is 15 years imprisonment.”
