The head of the Saudi Boeing Company, Asaad Al -Jumai, stressed that the Kingdom is flying towards the forefront of aviation regionally, as it progresses in an accelerated pace to become a leading regional center in the global aviation industry.
In an interview with “Al -Sharq Al -Awsat”, Al -Jumai said that this strategic trend is driven by an unprecedented growth in the numbers of passengers, historical aircraft deals, and huge infrastructure projects that are in line with the National Transformation Program and “Vision 2030”.
He pointed out that the recent orders from “Riyadh Air” and “Saudi Arabian Airlines” to buy 121 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft reflect the Kingdom’s firm commitment to building a global competitive air transport sector. Stretching
These aircraft are the Kingdom’s goals to reach more than 100 destinations by 2030, coinciding with huge projects such as King Salman International Airport.
He explained that these orders are added to a fleet consisting of 240 Boeing aircraft currently operating in Saudi Arabia, including the “Avi Les” deal owned by the Public Investment Fund, to purchase 20 Boeing 737-8 aircraft with options for 10 additional aircraft.
He stressed Saudi Arabia’s focus on investing in local competencies, developing skills, and promoting innovation and technology, which opens wide horizons for a new generation of Saudis to lead the future of this vital sector, stressing the commitment of “Boeing” to qualify national cadres through advanced educational and training initiatives, including academic and industrial partnerships to support defense industries and localize advanced technologies.
