Today, Monday, the intelligence service in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior was arrested, the former director of the Agriculture Department in Al -Karkh, for its direct involvement in the armed accident, which occurred inside the building of the Agriculture Department in the Al -Daraa neighborhood, southwest of Baghdad.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed in a statement: “Legal measures will be taken against the accused, and the arrest is deposited in preparation for his presentation before the competent judicial authorities.”
In its statement, the ministry stressed that its security apparatus will not tolerate any attempt aimed at undermining security or prejudice to the prestige of the state and its institutions.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Interior forces arrested 14 militants from the Popular Mobilization Forces, against the backdrop of an armed attack by a group of the Popular Mobilization Forces on the building of the Agricultural Department in the Al -Darah neighborhood, accompanied by heavy shooting, which killed a police officer with the rank of captain and civilian and wounding 8 police forces, including three officers.
The Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shi’a Al -Sudani, the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces, ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the circumstances of this incident and to present the guilty to justice.
On the other hand, a statement of the “Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades” stated, “What Baghdad witnessed yesterday, Sunday, in which two martyrs and a number of wounded fell, but it was the result of confrontations that erupted between the security services of the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces, against the background of an altercation that occurred in one of the departments of Baghdad Governorate after the decision to dismiss a director and another appointment, and it intensified after the intervention of the latter’s protection and his relatives to confirm what they considered a merit.”
The statement, which was distributed today, stated that “(Hezbollah Brigades) confirms that they were not a party to the engagement, and warned that this escalation serves the enemies of Iraq, and behind it is malicious agendas that seek to split the national ranks and push government agencies to warm between them.”
