British surgeon: Israeli soldiers are shooting the Palestinians “as if they were playing shooting”
British surgeon Nick Mainard, who recently returned from the Gaza Strip, confirmed the existence of a “severe malnutrition” among the Palestinians, and said that the Israeli soldiers are shooting civilians at relief points “as if they were playing the shooting game.”
Mainard said in an interview with the British “Sky News” channel that he had worked for four weeks inside Nasser Hospital in Gaza, where the lack of food led to the suffering of paramedics in treating children and infants.
He added, “I met several doctors who were carrying boxes of artificial infant formula in their bags, and all Israeli border guards confiscated them. There was nothing else, except for artificial infant formula. ”
He continued: “Four children who were checked during the first two weeks of my presence in Nasser Hospital, and there will be many other deaths unless the Israelis allow the appropriate food to enter there.”
Dr. Nick Mainard has been visiting Gaza for 15 years, and this is his third visit to the Strip since the war began, and added that almost all children in the pediatrics unit at Nasser Hospital are feeding with sugar -sweetened water.
He warned, “They have a small amount of artificial infant formula for children, but it is not enough.”
He said that the lack of aid had a great impact on his colleagues, and he continued: “I saw people I knew for years, and I did not know each other. They were very hungry to work every day, then they returned to their tents where they did not find food. ”
He stated: “The Israeli army shoots the inhabitants of Gaza at relief points (as if they were playing a shooting game).”
Mainard stated that he had performed the surgeries of boys, who are not more than 11 years old, who were shot at food distribution points, run by the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” backed by the United States and Israel.
He said: “They went to get food for their hungry families, so they were shot, and the most painful thing is the style of injuries that we saw, and injuries are gathered in certain parts of the body on certain days.”
He stated: «On a day, they often came with gunshots in the head or neck, and on another day in the chest, and on another day in the abdomen 12 days ago, four teenagers came, all of whom had gunshots in the testes, intentionally. This is not a coincidence. The gathering was very clear that it could not be considered a coincidence, and it seemed to us more like a shooting game, and I would never believe this if I had not seen it with my eyes.
And “Sky News” pointed out that, according to the United Nations, more than a thousand people were killed while trying to receive food aid from the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) criticized the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” plan to distribute aid, and Commissioner -General Philip Lazarini said: “What is called a distribution plan is the trap of a sadistic death, where snipers fire randomly at the crowds as if they were given a murder license.”
The United Nations stated that only a small part of the necessary aid truck reaches the Strip, while multiple relief organizations and the World Health Organization warned that Gaza residents are facing a “collective famine”.
Lazarini quoted a colleague on Thursday as saying that the Palestinians who suffer from malnutrition in Gaza “are neither dead nor neighborhoods, they are bodies moving.”
