The International Athletics Federation said, on Wednesday, that mathematics will be qualifications to participate in the category of women in the world championships such as the World Athletics Championship, only in the event of a single -time genes test to determine sexual identity, in an attempt to protect the integrity of women’s sport.

The test protocol will be supervised by the unions (members), and the new regulations will enter into force on September 1, before the World Athletics Championship that will be held in Tokyo from September 13 to 21.
“The biological sex confirmation test is a very important step … and we affirm that at the elite level, sports should be a biologically female to compete in the women’s category,” the president of the International Federation, Sebastian Co, said in a statement.
He added: «It was always very clear to me and the Union Council that sex could not overcome the biological nature. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the members of the members for their support and commitment to applying these new regulations. ”
Athletics spent years discussing the standards of nationality to participate in the women’s competitions, amid questions about the biological preference of transgender athletes or athletes with differences in sexual development.
