The Dutch, Sarina and Yagman, England’s women’s football team coach, described the crowning of the Euro 205 women’s title in Switzerland, as an amazing achievement.
The English national team snapped the title for the second time in a row after beating Spain 3/1 with a penalty shootout for the end of the original and additional time for the final match in a 1/1 draw.
“No, I do not believe that, I am really surprised,” said Wahman, on the British BBC channel, after the meeting.
She added: “We confirmed that we are able to win the title by any means, and we have proven that again, I am very proud of the team and the technical staff, it is an amazing, incredible achievement.”
“I cannot believe that there is a gold medal around my neck, and that we won the championship cup,” the Dutch coach continued.
She emphasized: “It was indeed the most exciting championship after many challenges we faced against our competitors. The excitement was present since the first match.”
She concluded: “The loss in the first match in the European Championship, then crowning the title at the end of the journey, is incredible, it is raising football.”
Wegman won the European Championship for the third time in her training career after a title with the Netherlands in 2017 and two consecutive titles with England in 2022 and 2025.
