Yemen protested to the UN Security Council, on Thursday, on the continuation of the blatant Iranian interventions in its internal affairs, and working to destabilize its security and stability, violate the relevant Security Council resolutions and the Charter of the United Nations.

Shadi Al -Zindani, the Yemeni Foreign Minister, addressed Ambassador Assem Afzar Ahmed, Chairman of the UN Security Council, and the permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations in New York, and delivered by Ambassador Abdullah Al -Saadi, the permanent representative of Yemen to the United Nations, on the seizure of a shipment of Iranian weapons directed, across the sea, to the Houthi group this month, according to the official news agency “Saba” and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Al -Zindani emphasized that the investigations and inspection operations conducted by military experts on the components that were intercepted clearly show that the trade name, model, marks and numbers of the contents of the shipment that were seized by the National Resistance Forces in the Arab Coast are similar to the military equipment produced in Iran, and some of them were attached to an operating guide in the Persian language, which categorically confirms its Iranian source.

The Yemeni minister added that the shipment of qualitative weapons is only another link of a long series and systematic plans for the Iranian regime and its interventions, which he described as a blasphemy, in the Yemeni affairs, and its flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter, International Law and Related Security Council resolutions, many of which have already been documented in the reports of the expert team of the Punishment Committee established under Resolution 2140 (2014) ».

The shipment seized by the national resistance forces came off the western coast of the country, which weighs about 750 tons, weapons, ammunition and military equipment, including marine and air missile systems, an air defense system, modern radars, reconnaissance and offensive aircraft, and calls for calls.

Seek to perpetuate the conflict

The memo stated that, “since the Houthi militia coup against the constitutional legitimacy, state institutions, national consensus, the aspirations of the Yemeni people, and the outbreak of this conflict, military, financial and technical support by the Iranian regime enabled the Houthi militias to continue their war against the Yemeni people, and the implementation of attacks targeting Yemeni cities and villages and killing civilians.”

The Houthi group also carried out, according to the memo, terrorist operations that affected the civil infrastructure, oil installations, energy stations in Yemen and neighboring countries, in addition to targeting international maritime navigation, shipping ships and oil tankers in the Red Sea, the most recent of which was the attack on two ships, this month, led to their drowning, killing and loss of a number of their members.

He noted that “the continued smuggling of Iranian weapons to the Houthi militias, and the provision of military, financial and technical support to them, clearly indicates the size of the direct Iranian intervention in the Yemeni affairs”, and its investment in the Houthi militia within its broader expansion project to destabilize security and regional and international stability.

These interventions also reveal the Iranian regime’s endeavor to prolong the conflict in Yemen, impeding opportunities to reach a comprehensive and comprehensive political settlement, the suffering of the Yemeni people, and the transformation of Yemeni territory and territorial waters into a platform to threaten international navigation and undermine regional and international security and security.

He pointed out that the repeated attempts of the Iranian regime to disavow responsibility and question the reports of the experts team concerned with Yemen are not fools on anyone, but once again confirming its double approach, with public denial of sabotage practices, and the continuation of hostilities through its agents in Yemen and the region.

Adhere to the sovereignty

The memorandum renewed the warning of the Yemeni government against continuing to ignore the consequences of the Houthi group’s disintegration of implementing the Stockholm Agreement on the city of Hodeidah, its continued control of the city and its ports and more than 250 kilometers from the coastal strip of Yemen on the Red Sea, and turning it into a platform to target and threaten international maritime navigation lines and smuggle Iranian weapons.

She stressed that achieving security and stability in Yemen, the region and international navigation passages can only take place by restoring the Yemeni state and its constitutional institutions, and the Yemeni government’s practice of its full powers on the Yemeni coastal strip, and on all Yemeni lands, enabling it to its responsibilities towards its citizens, and preserving security and regional and international stability.

In its complaint, the Yemeni government indicated targeting the life and safety of the Greek ship “Magic Cis” (A.P.)

The government called on the international community and the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in facing these violations, taking firm measures to deter the Iranian regime and stop its interventions, through the explicit condemnation of its violations of the Security Council resolutions related to the prohibition of targeted weapons, the continued support of the Houthi group, the enhancement of international control efforts, and the support of the United Nations mechanism for verification and inspection (UNVIM).

It demanded the speedy completion of the appointment of the expert team concerned with Yemen; To ensure documenting facts and continuing accountability, and imposing effective sanctions on the networks involved in smuggling weapons, whether they are entities or individuals, inside or outside Iran, and holding the Iranian regime full responsibility for actions, in Yemen, threatening international peace and security, and undermining the relevant Security Council resolutions.

She urged the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in preserving the security and regional and international peace, ensuring the implementation of its decisions related to the Yemeni affairs, foremost of which is Decisions 2216 (2015) and 2140 (2014), taking effective measures to deter the Iranian regime’s interventions in the Yemeni affairs, and stop the smuggling of weapons to the Houthis.
